Every time I walk into a bakery I drool over the thick, chewy, dense, giant cookies I see on display. Sure they taste delicious, but more than anything, I have always wanted to be able to make my cookies look like that!
I can make cookies that taste good, and look just fine, but one of my dreams in life is to be able to make my cookies look like the perfect monster cookies I idolize.
The epitome of the perfect cookie to me, is the chocolate chip cookie. As sweet as it’s creator wants it to be, as cakey, as dense, as flakey, as chewy, crispy, fluffy, or flat, filled with nuts, or raisins, whole wheat, oat, butter, or margarine, it is a reflection of it’s maker.
Always on the lookout for the perfect chocolate chip cookie, I was intrigued when I came across this recipe from, Little Bitty Bakes. Now, when it comes to taste, I think I’ve come pretty close to perfection and will be sure to share me recipe soon. What I have NOT been able to do is achieve my desired texture and size. Plenty of recipes promise it, few deliver. Something about Liz’s replica of the famed, Levain Bakery cookies seemed different. I had faith!
Oh. My. Chocolaty. Goodness.
Where do I begin?
I suppose with the recipe. I followed it to the T aside from leaving out the walnuts which, for the record I think would be delicious. Upon reading through the recipe, I saw a large amount of cornstarch as well as larger than normal portions of baking salt, baking soda, and salt, and did not call for any vanilla (which is good because we were all out!).
The REAL kicker here is this: The recipe yields what I would consider an average amount of dough, about three pounds. That three pounds creates….12 COOKIES!
Yes, you read that right. That means, almost a quarter stick of butter per cookie (perfection?)!
Your eyes do not deceive you, these babies were OVER an inch thick!!!

Throughout my injury, I have well-documented my love of the stair master here on CCR. This lovely machine got me through my elliptical and spinning woes while I was banned from the roads. Imagine my horror then, when Monday morning I saw this at my gym:
All of my gym’s stair masters being removed! Immediately I dashed up to the employees who were removing the machines. They assured me they would be replaced with new machines shortly! Phew!
What are your favorite gym machines?
Besides the treadmill (which I actually hate) I LOVE me some stairmaster!
Link up your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!!!!

I’d be livid if my stair master were taken. Glad you’re getting newwww ones
Me too, I cannot wait to try them out!
(It’s the little things
)
Ah not the stair master! Definitely the best cardio piece in the gym. Those cookies look so good. I’ve never used corn starch before. Big cookies are the best!
Oh my gosh, you have to try them. I mailed them to a bunch of people, and the response has been phenomenal!
