Deep Thoughts From My Blog-Free Week

Hello Everyone!

I’m back and it feels oh so good! I know I set the expectation of deep thoughts, but you may have to settle for random :)

My desire for the perfect computer led to my brief hiatus from the world of the internet over the past week. I have needed a new computer for a very, very long time now,but have been holding out, unable to settle on one. When my computer decided to finally die for real this time (after many close calls) I was forced to get decisive.

I decided to pay up a bit and go with the the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13, thank you corporate discount!

It’s still early in our very close, and serious relationship, but so far….

I AM IN LOVE! I’ll do a more thorough review in the future is anyone is interested.

Speaking of Love

I hope you all enjoyed your Valentine’s Day! Here are some of the random musings that have occurred to me while I was computerless…

“Driving in the Snow is Wild!”

As Florida girl, you could say my experience is, well, limited… Eastern North Carolina does not get much snow, and this weekend’s front has been the most we have gotten since I moved. Even though it wasn’t too heavy, when you are driving forward (hopefully) and the snow is coming straight at you, it feels as though you aren’t even moving. Craziness! :o

“When it is Icy/Rainy Like This”

All I want to do is nest and cook this for my friends.

“My Mother is Amazing”

And she wants me to weigh 300 pounds

And I am ok with that. Apparently there is another Valentine’s package in the mail, and I am blown away, she just knows me too well!

Ok, I might need to explain the candy jewelry.

If you can’t tell by the name of CCR, I am slightly obsessed with candy. Within the past few years, candy necklaces have found a special place in my sugar fueled heart. Maybe it stems from deep rooted nostalgia courtesy of my two favorite childhood games, Pretty Pretty Princess, and Candy Land. I don’t know. What I do know, is that I forced my sister to buy me the below for a birthday gift last summer while I was standing right next to her.

“Home Raised Eggs Live Up to the Hype”

A woman I work with, actually two of the managers I work with, raise chickens. One was kind enough to give me over a dozen of her chicken’s eggs! I have heard all of the hype about how much more flavorful, healthy, easy to work with, and overall higher quality home raised eggs are than store bought eggs and I have been dying to give them a go!

I whipped up one of my all time favorite recipes, thank you Cooking Light as always, and was blown away! I don’t think I can go back to store bought eggs gahhh! (Ok who are we kidding of course I can, I love eggs too much.)

“It’s Just a Pulled Muscle, It’s Just a Pulled Muscle.”

That knee pain I mentioned last week. Well, it’s hasn’t exactly gone away. That has meant lots of icing, brace wearing and NO running.

I have an appointment to see an orthopedic who works with the NC State sports programs, Carolina Ballet, and Hurricanes hockey team on Monday. Until then I am avoiding even acknowledging it, hence the short write up!

I hope you have a simply wonderful Sunday!

What were your favorite board games growing up?

What random thoughts have you had this week?

Ever tried home raised eggs?
