When I woke up Wednesday morning, the day following my first Pure Barre class, I was moderately surprised that I could walk. I assumed, that major DOMS would set in by Thursday. As I made my way to the gym Thursday, for my planned 7 miles, (with six intervals of 3 minutes at 7:31 with two minutes rest in between) I felt… great!
Then I started to run. Those 7:31 intervals turned in to 7:41 intervals.
Those six sets turned into five.
Finishing those seven miles took just about bit of guts I had.
Pure Barre may have spared my the movement inhibiting soreness I anticipated, but as a typical runner who falls into the trap of neglecting her booty and hamstrings, man o man did those guys get schooled! (This is a very, very good, and much needed thing :))
